Cristiano Ronaldo had reportedly demanded a transfer to Chelsea or Bayern Munich after his exit from Manchester United earlier this month.
The Portuguese superstar terminated his contract at Old Trafford following an explosive interview with the British journalist Piers Morgan which had Ronaldo lambasting his then-United boss Eric ten Hag and the club’s owners.
According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that Ronaldo, before making the switch to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, was keen on joining Chelsea or Bayern Munich and had conveyed the same to his agent Jorge Mendes.
Chelsea had been considered as one of the contenders for Ronaldo’s signature last summer with Mendes in contact with the Blues co-owner Todd Beohly who had been interested in moving in for the 37-year-old forward.
Thomas Tuchel, then in charge of the west London giants, was said to be against the idea of making an offer to sign Ronaldo with the German coach looking elsewhere for alternatives to bolster his Chelsea front line.
