Chelsea loanee Gallagher speaks about being aware of Lampard keeping tabs on him

Conor Gallagher’s loan move to West Brom has seen him taking an increasingly prominent role with England’s Under-21 side as he seems to develop extensively.

Gallagher made his breakthrough in the previous season at Chelsea and is enjoying minutes in his new club after the loan move. The 20-year-old narrowly missed to get promoted and opted to choose West Brom as per Lamaprd’s recommendation.

Gallagher played a crucial role in England’s U21’s 3-1 victory against Andorra were one of the goals scored was Chelsea’s Callum Hudson Odoi. The Chelsea loanee is determined to be back in his parent club and is continuing his development in the Premier League.

“I will always give 100 percent, no matter what. Whether it is West Brom or Chelsea, I will always give my best for the team,” Gallagher said after the match at Molineux Stadium.

“I am just happy to be playing in the Premier League. I am very happy at West Brom and excited to play in more games. I have started well at West Brom even though results haven’t gone our way, so I just need to keep that going and stay consistent. Hopefully, the results there will then improve,” said Gallagher as per Goal reports.

He is aware that all the performances at his level are being watched by the Chelsea hierarchies and also England’s coach, Gareth Southgate. The likes of Phil Foden, Reece James’ breakthrough recently in the senior squad of England has given him hope to strive for the very best.

“It gives every young English player hope,” he continued.

“[England U21 coach] Aidy [Boothroyd] said it has been 22 players in the last four years that have gone from the 21s to the seniors which is a very high number.

He is very certain about Chelsea’s cash, Frank Lampard keeping tabs on him as well. He says that although things haven’t gone so well, he won’t stand until he is playing under him.

“I believe so, as people know he is a great manager even though I am not at the club. I know the guys are watching and hoping I do well.”

The match against Andorra was Gallagher’s fifth cap for the English team at the U21 level and his fluidity in the field, as well as body language, makes him a good fit to even start from the next matches of the U-21 Euro Championship in the following summer.
