Confirmed Lineups: Wolves vs Chelsea – Gallagher starts, Sterling returns

Raheem Sterling returns to the Chelsea front line while Conor Gallagher is handed a start as Frank Lampard’s second stint as manager kicks off with a trip to Wolves.

A four-man backline for the visitors

The expectation was that the caretaker manager Lampard will field a four-man backline, which is the case with Wesley Fofana joining Kalidou Koulibaly in the centre-back role.

Reece James and Marc Cucurella start as the two full-backs on either side of the pitch with the latter pipping Ben Chilwell to the starting berth on the team sheet.

Gallagher joins the engine room

Mason Mount is absent from the matchday squad due to unknown reasons and joining Enzo Fernandez and Mateo Kovacic in the midfield is Conor Gallagher.

In the attacking third of the pitch, Kai Havertz is likely to operate as the focal point of the front three with Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling on the wings.
