Timo Werner is relegated to the bench for Chelsea as the Blues travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday evening hoping to get their top-four challenge back on track after the recent humbling at the hands of West Brom.
Tuchel finally hands the axe to Werner in wake of the latter continuing to end his rough patch of form as his side’s No.9.
Kai Havertz to take the attacking role for the Blues
The absence of Timo Werner and Olivier Giroud amongst the XI who would take the field for the visitors is likely to spell out Kai Havertz’s role with the German international having to bear much of Chelsea’s attacking responsibilities of late.
Havertz would be flanked by Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount on either wing with Pulisic getting yet another start in what has become an extended first-team involvement for the young American in recent weeks.
Reece James drops out as Hudson-Odoi earns rare recall
Another change on the teamsheet for the Blues is the inclusion of Callum Hudson-Odoi who will take the right wing-back role with Reece James dropping out for the Selhurst Park showdown.
Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic continue to feature as Chelsea’s pairing in the centre of the park with the returning N’Golo Kante amongst the substitutes.
Here is how both teams line up for today’s Premier League fixture:
