Edouard Mendy is back in the Chelsea goal after being on the bench for the last two games with Thomas Tuchel’s side eyeing a much-needed win over Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues had fallen short last time around when these two sides met this past Saturday in the FA Cup final as the Foxes took home the trophy with the narrowest of margins.
Christensen remains absent as Alonso is benched
Andres Christensen is once again missing from the matchday squad owing to his injury troubles which means Thomas Tuchel fields an unchanged defence from the FA Cup final defeat.
In the left wing-back role, however, it is the return of Ben Chilwell with the Spaniard Marcos Alonso dropping down to the bench after being handed a start last weekend at Wembley.
Mateo Kovacic features on the bench on his return from injury
Kovacic is back in the squad for the west London giants after missing the last ten games but has to suffice with a spot on the bench with Tuchel opting not to change his midfield pairing of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.
Up top on the pitch, it is Timo Werner who continues to assume the No.9 role for the Blues despite enduring a slump in form.
Here is how both teams line up for today’s Champions League fixture:
