There is no Timo Werner once again in the Chelsea starting eleven as the Blues take on FC Porto in the second of the two-legged Champions League quarter-final meeting in Seville.
Werner has sat out the last two games for Thomas Tuchel’s side with the Chelsea gaffer preferring to draft fellow German international Kai Havertz in the striking role ahead of the under-fire Werner.
Kante comes in for Kovacic in midfield
N’Golo Kante makes a much-anticipated return to the Chelsea midfield following his arrival back amongst the fold from an injury sustained during the last international break.
Making way for the Frenchman’s inclusion is Mateo Kovacic who had been handed extended first-team involvement of late alongside Jorginho in the centre of the park for the Blues.
Thiago Silva starts as Andres Christensen features on the bench
Much of the focus ahead of the midweek clash had been on Christensen who had been injured recently but was a part of the 23-man Chelsea squad that has travelled to Seville.
The Danish international is on the bench for the forthcoming fixture with Thiago Silva returning to the XI after missing the recent win over Crystal Palace due to suspension.
