Andreas Christensen returns to the starting team sheet for Chelsea who take on Chesterfield in the third round matchup of the FA Cup.
The Dane had gone missing from the fold of late with a back injury but makes the squad for today’s game and is handed the starting role at the back for the home side.
A much-changed defensive lineup for Chelsea
Joining the returning Andreas Christensen in the heart of the backline is the young Frenchman Malang Sarr with the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta afforded much-needed rest.
In the wing-back roles, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Lewis Hall come in with Thomas Tuchel unable to call upon the services of Reece James and Ben Chilwell.
Saul retains his starting berth
The Spain international turned up at his brilliant best in the 2-0 win over Spurs last time around and he operates in the centre of the park with Mateo Kovacic with Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic on the flanks.
Up top on the pitch, Romelu Lukaku is joined by his strike partner Timo Werner with the latter earning a starting role following his delayed return to the Stamford Bridge camp from injury.
