N’Golo Kante returns to the team sheet for Chelsea with Ross Barkley also handed a rare start for the league outing against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
Thomas Tuchel’s men last turned out in action earlier this week away at Swedish outfit Malmo with Hakim Ziyech’s strike earning the win in Champions League football.
Cesar Azpilicueta on the bench, Thiago Silva starts
Tuchel does not ring in changes to his defensive lineup that last took the field in league action against Newcastle United with Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Thiago Silva starting at the back.
Reece James and Ben Chilwell slot in at the full-back roles with the midfield occupied by the returning N’Golo Kante and Jorginho, the latter of whom dons the captain’s armband in Azpilicueta’s absence.
Surprise start for Barkley with Ziyech benched
Ross Barkley is a surprise name on the starting team sheet for the home side with the former Everton man coming in for Hakim Ziyech who drops down to the bench.
Mason Mount is back in the matchday squad after his recent absence due to an illness and the England international playmaker serves on the bench along with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic.
