Stamford Bridge hero John Terry is set to take up a consultancy role at the Chelsea Academy in his return to the Blues camp, according to a statement from the club’s official website.
The 41-year-old former England international who is considered as one of the greatest players in Chelsea’s history will work with the youth talent at the Cobham facility as well as the coaching staff in the development programme
Chelsea confirmed that the flexibility in Terry’s appointment to the new job will allow him to continue his coaching development and maintain other commitments.
Terry joined Midlands outfit Aston Villa in October 2018 to work under the then gaffer Dean Smith as the assistant head coach but called it quits this summer to seek a new opportunity elsewhere.
He was a product of Chelsea’s famed academy ranks and went on to make 717 senior outings for the west Londoners, donning the skipper’s armband for over 500 games and winning 17 trophies during a much illustrious spell in the English capital.
