Christopher Nkunku remains on course to sign for Chelsea next summer despite his injury which sidelined him from the World Cup in Qatar.
A torn knee ligament had ruled out the France international attacker from the major tournament this month with his national side and led to speculation over his transfer situation with Chelsea keen on his signature.
The Blues are in the market for much-needed reinforcements to bolster their front line and had zeroed in on Nkunku to provide the extra impetus going forward with the Frenchman impressing in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.
According to a report from the French news outlet Le10Sport, it is claimed that Nkunku’s agent Pini Zahavi understood to have agreed the terms of the contract for his move to Stamford Bridge come summer 2023.
Nkunku has netted 12 times in just 15 Bundesliga outings so far this season and has emerged as one of the top performers in Germany’s top flight which made Chelsea take note of his impressive run of displays.
