According to the latest reports, Premier League duo of Liverpool and Chelsea are scouting Borussia Dortmund’s star forward Christian Pulisic in the winter transfer window.
Liverpool is currently battling for the Premier League title as Jurgen Klopp’s side sits at the top of the Premier League table. But the German boss is aware that he needs to re-enforce his squad and bolster his attack in order to outlast champions Manchester City.
Chelsea became the first team to beat Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend and the Blues sent out a message that they could be dark horses in the race for the title. However, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri wasn’t to add a goalscorer to his side and is targeting Christian Pulisic.
Earlier this month, Borussia Dortmund chief executive Michael Zorc insisted that he will not part with any players who are essential to the Bundesliga table-toppers but Zorc was slightly less certain when he mentioned Pulisic specifically despite quoting, “I strongly expect Christian will still be wearing the BVB jersey in February”
But Pulisic is becoming more and more desperate for game time as the 20-year-old lasted the whole 90 minutes back in September. Since then Pulisic has made just four starts and five appearances off the bench in the league. With just 18 months left on his current contract at Dortmund, it’s unlikely that the German club will offer him an extension.
Even the emergence of England wonder kid Jadon Sancho has pushed the young American further down the pecking order at the Westfalenstadion. Watching from the sidelines isn’t easy and reports claim that Pulisic wants a move to England to play football in the Premier League.
With Eden Hazard set to depart Stamford Bridge as the Belgian is stalling a massive contract extension offered to him by the club, Pulisic could be the next big thing at West London as he could fit in the boots for arguably the best winger in the Premier League.
It’s sad to see Pulisic not playing on a regular basis as he must be eager to showcase his talents for the Dortmund outfit. A move to the Premier League would be much advised but Pulisic must ensure that he receives regular football wherever he moves next.
