Christian Pulisic Injured Out Of USA Squad

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has withdrawn his name from the United States’ squad due to a hip injury leaving Blues manager Frank Lampard in some worry over his return to action.

The 21-year-old Pulisic was part of the initial selection for the CONCACAF Nations League fixtures when the United States of America would face Canada and Cuba this month.

But unfortunately, the USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed a joint decision had been made to not risk Pulisic’s fitness after the star forward complained of a hip problem.

While speaking to reporters, the 46-year-old Berhalter confirmed Pulisic would be ruled out of the national team squad because they would not want to risk his injury “Christian is officially at this stage ruled out. We just got that information. This was a collaborative decision with the club, looking after the best interest of the player. These decisions are always difficult because this group and the coaching staff want nothing more than to have Christian here, but it was a risk we weren’t willing to take at this time.”

Pulisic got off to a difficult start to life at Stamford Bridge since arriving at West London in the summer transfer window from Borussia Dortmund but it seems that the youngster is slowly finding his feet after netting five goals recently in the Premier League helping Chelsea to third on the table.

The issue for Lampard will be thata Pulisic is slowly getting into form and in injury could be a big blow as the West London side has to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in their next fixture.
