Chelsea’s opening bid worth €25 million & add-ons for Raheem Sterling was turned down by Manchester City who are holding out for a sizable asking price.
The England international winger has emerged as a top name on the shopping list for Chelsea in recent weeks with City open to parting ways with their forward player for the right offer.
With Thomas Tuchel looking to bring in reinforcements for his attacking lineup as Romelu Lukaku nears his return to Inter Milan, Sterling is understood to be a priority target at Stamford Bridge this summer.
According to the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the initial bid tabled by the Blues for the City player has been turned down with the champions of the land slapping a valuation of around €55/60 million on the former Liverpool winger’s head.
Chelsea are tipped to go in with an improved offer soon with Tuchel eager to land Sterling’s signature and make the Englishman his marquee signing of this transfer window which is the first for the club under their new ownership.
