Chelsea midfielder, Marco van Ginkel was kept out for more than two years from football and is totally prepared to step into the pitch for the first time with renewed hopes. The Dutch midfielder is currently playing as a Chelsea loanee in the Dutch club, PSV- making his return from the horrifying knee injury he suffered back in 2018.
Van Ginkel expressed how ready and motivated he is to return to the field and play football after such a long time. He also gave updates on the progress he is making to return to full fitness and play at a better form to ESPN as per the Official Chelsea website.
‘The knee is doing well, we are doing well,’ the midfielder said. ‘For the last two weeks, I have been doing everything with the group again.
‘Now that I’m so close again, it’s starting to itch again. In the past two weeks. I have taken steps and now I have to take a step towards the games.’
‘Eventually, you find out that football is really your thing,’ he said. ‘That fire has always kept burning and it will do so for the time being. When you are that close, you know you have not done everything for anything.’
Marco van Ginkel joined PSV Eindhoven this summer transfer window, which is his third loan move in his career. He has not featured in any single game till now. He expresses how football is his life and the fire has always been burning to return to the pitch for Chelsea as well since his injury.
In fact, most people would already lose hope since the 2017-18 campaign, he has not played any game as well. Marco did not and he has instilled new hopes of the second phase of his footballing career and wishes to see a positive start in 2021.
