As reported by the Metro, Chelsea star Levi Colwill is seeking assurances from manager Mauricio Pochettino regarding playing time at the club. If he doesn’t receive such guarantees, he is prepared to leave Chelsea during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Colwill had a successful loan spell with Brighton and Hove Albion in the previous season, attracting interest from the club for a permanent transfer.
However, the Blues turned down a £30 million offer as they believe the young defender will play a significant role under new manager Pochettino.
Other clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester City, have also shown interest in Colwill. Liverpool, in particular, could benefit from his left-footed defensive abilities to strengthen their backline.

The young player’s performances were impressive enough to catch the attention of England national team manager Gareth Southgate, who considered calling him up for the March international games.
Unfortunately, Colwill sustained an injury in January, which kept him out of action for a few weeks. Overall, the defender is a highly regarded player who can excel as both a center-back and a left-back, demonstrating skill on the ball, recovery speed, and physical strength.
However, he is requesting assurances from manager Mauricio Pochettino regarding consistent playing time in the upcoming season.
Despite having a similar player in the squad, Benoit Badiashile, who is currently injured, Pochettino can accommodate both players in the team.
It’s commendable that Colwill is prioritizing regular game time over representing a bigger club. At his age, playing more matches will greatly contribute to his development.

Pochettino has a reputation for working with talented young players and helping them reach superstar status, which makes him an ideal coach for these young players. It is hoped that Colwill will remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer transfer window.
