Chelsea’s forgotten midfielder, Lewis Baker has joined Trabzonspor on loan as per the confirmations from Chelsea FC official site. Bekar joined Chelsea in 2004 and has only featured once in the first-team squad, with his sole appearance coming nearly six years ago.

He came from the bench as Oscar’s substitute in FA Cup’s third round where Chelsea won 2-0 against Derby County. Since then, he has been outside the club in loan spells making this new move to be his eighth move in his career.
His career in Chelsea started brightly as he became Chelsea’s 2014 Young Player of the Year and also won the goal of the season in the same year. He had an impressive display for the England youth side.
Moreover, while playing for the Three Lions club, he won the Golden boot as his club, for the first time in 22 years, won the Toulon Tournament.
But looks like his time in the Stamford Bridge is on the verge of ending. As per the reports, Trabzonspor has the right to exercise a permanent deal on Lewis Baker which will eventually put an endnote to his Chelsea career.
Trabzonspor’s manager is Eddie Newton who was a former Chelsea player. He knows the Lewis since his time in Chelsea academy. This can be an ideal place for the midfielder as Eddie knows him completely and it wouldn’t be a bad start to make his name somewhere besides Chelsea.
