Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic to be out for up to two months with a knee injury

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is in line to be out for up to two months with a knee injury, confirmed the Blues head coach Graham Potter.

The USMNT international was withdrawn from last week’s Premier League defeat to Manchester City on home turf and further scans of his niggle have determined the extent of the problem.

A report from ESPN has quoted the Chelsea manager Potter confirming a two-month-long spell on the sidelines for the former Borussia Dortmund winger who had been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent times.

“Christian is a couple of months we think, hopefully less, but that’s the timeframe there.”

Manchester United and Newcastle had been keeping tabs on Pulisic’s situation with both clubs said to have made an inquiry over signing the winger on loan but a fresh injury setback is likely to damage his prospects of a transfer.

Chelsea, meanwhile, announced the arrival of Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix in a loan deal until the end of the season with the Portuguese attacker’s arrival set to provide the Blues with much needed firepower up top on the pitch.
