Emerson Palmieri has brought the curtains down on his recent Chelsea nightmare by making the move to Ligue 1 outfit Lyon in a loan deal that will run until the next summer.
Reports from the club’s official website confirm that Lyon have landed the Euros-winning Italy full-back on loan this summer and will have the option to make his transfer permanent next year.
The Stamford Bridge outcast had been heavily linked with a move away from Thomas Tuchel’s camp this summer after seeing his game time curtailed since the German took over earlier this year from Frank Lampard.
There had been strong interest in securing Emerson’s services from his homeland Italy with AC Milan and Napoli credited with keeping close tabs on the ex-Roma man who had fallen behind Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in the pecking order at Chelsea.
