Chelsea will not allow January signing David Datro Fofana to leave on loan despite the striker being eyed up by Turkish clubs with their transfer window still open.
Galatasaray had been credited with an interest in Fofana who signed for Graham Potter’s side last month from Molde having netted 24 goals in 65 matches for them to earn a move to Stamford Bridge.
With competition in the front line at Chelsea stiff following the hefty spending in the January window, the 20-year-old Fofana will have to compete wih the likes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havertz for a berth on the team sheet.
According to a report from Standard Sport, it is claimed that Chelsea will be in line to retain Fofana’s services until the end of the season as the Blues are not blessed with plenty of natural No.9’s with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club hanging in the balance.
The former Arsenal talisman was omitted from Chelsea’s squad for the knockout stages of the Champions League which has sparked of speculation over his status in the Blues fold.
