Lampard and co. are desperate to offload Tiémoué Bakayoko after their huge summer spending spree. Chelsea has signed 5 new faces this summer transfer and a new goalkeeper has been added to that list too.
In order to balance the books, the Blues want to offload many players from the squad who has underperformed. The French midfielder, Bakayoko comes under that list as he has failed to make any impressive impression since he moved to Stamford Bridge in 2017.
Serie A giants AC Milan has tried previously to push a deal for the midfielder but has failed to seal any deal agreed by both the parties.
The 26-year old is now wanted by the French club, Paris Saint Germain too. The 2019 UCL runners-up have proposed a deal to take Bakayoko on loan this season with a purchase clause for a permanent move at the end of the term.
The Chelsea board holds £32m for the French international and are asking for a £4.6m loan fee with the rest £27.4m to be paid as the full transfer fee. This loan figure is agreed by AC Milan but not the remaining £27.4m. Instead, they want £18.3m in a year to seal a permanent deal. Chelsea isn’t happy to let go of such a price as they are looking to make money.
As per reports, they will complete the deal immediately if PSG meets their fee demands before the transfer windows shut on 5th October.
The French international helped AS Monaco to the Ligue 1 title back before he signed for Chelsea. He also reached the UCL semi-final with them and it is his performance which impressed Chelsea. But under Antonio Conte, he disappointed with his performance as Chelsea and that was his last match for Chelsea.
For the next two years, he was loaned out to AS Monaco and AC Milan but didn’t do anything spectacular which would have made Lampard call him back in the squad.
