Chelsea weighing up a move for Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister

Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister who impressed for the champions Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

With the Blues on the search for a fresh pair of legs to bolster their midfield ranks, there is speculation that Brighton’s in-demand first-teamer Mac Allister could emerge on the radar at Stamford Bridge with the January window now open.

According to a report from ESPN, it is claimed that the Argentina international maestro, who has worked with the Chelsea manager Graham Potter while at Brighton, is a name on Chelsea’s shopping list.

The west London giants had been credited with a strong interest in signing Mac Allister’s compatriot Enzo Fernandez but with the latter commanding a price tag in excess of £100 million, Mac Allister is likely to come as a better value purchase.

Chelsea’s midfield roster is set to lose out on veterans N’Golo Kante and Jorginho next summer with both players expected to move on when their contracts at the Bridge expire at the end of the season.
