Thomas Tuchel’s high-flying Chelsea play hosts to Southampton on Tuesday night in the midweek contest in the EFL Cup Round of 16.
Chelsea have been terrific on all fronts in recent times and the latest outing against Norwich City over the past weekend was a testament to the form that Tuchel and Co. are in.
A 7-0 rout of the Premier League’s new boys Norwich was steered on by a Mason Mount masterclass with the England international, on his first start in October, netting a hat-trick at the expense of Daniel Farke’s men.
The likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mateo Kovacic showed up their best too and will be in line to retain their spots on the teamsheet for the upcoming game against a tough challenger in Southampton who drew 2-2 last time around against Burnley.

Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner both remain concerns on the injury front for Chelsea with Thomas Tuchel admitting earlier that his striker pairing were in line to miss the Southampton clash.
Chelsea, however, are in for some much-needed respite with midfield man N’Golo Kante set to return to the fold after sitting out the thumping win over Norwich on Saturday.
