Chelsea has tasted defeat in their previous two UEFA Champions League matches and they are set to start their new UCL season by facing Sevilla in their home. The Blues have never ever lost three games in a row consecutively in a major UEFA European competition.
Julen Lopetegui’s side will be desperate to impress here against a high-calibre opponent like Chelsea and they will undoubtedly fancy their chances against Frank Lampard’s men. Chelsea has looked to be very vulnerable at the back as it was proved in the previous match where Southampton came back from trailing two goals down to make the score 3-3.
Coach Lampard made a tactical switch to go with three central midfielders in a 4-3-3 rather than his frequently used 4-2-3-1 formation. It is to be seen who wins the tactical battle at Stamford Bridge but Sevilla is far better drilled than the Blues. They will not leave the ground without taking at least a point so goals will surely come from both sides.
