Chelsea welcome Red Bull Salzburg to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night in their first game under the newly appointed head coach Graham Potter.
The Blues last turned out in the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb who handed them a shock 1-0 defeat which marked the end of Thomas Tuchel’s reign with the sack soon delivered to the German coach.
Potter will be hoping for his players to perform at their best in his debut outing in the Chelsea dugout with the 47-year-old brought in by the new owner Todd Boehly with many expectations for his success at Brighton.
Salzburg, meanwhile, ensured the sharing of spoils in 1-1 stalemate against Serie A champions AC Milan last time around with the Austrian outfit putting in a solid display.

Chelsea’s first choice name between the goalposts, Edouard Mendy, is confirmed sidelined for the midweek fixture at the Bridge which opens the door for Kepa to the XI.
Midfield man N’Golo Kante, whose hamstring injury could keep him out of the mix until after the forthcoming international break, is another injury concern for the home side Chelsea.
It remains to be seen whether deadline day signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang makes the matchday squad after his return to training earlier in the week.
