Chelsea will begin their 2020-21 FA Cup campaign as they will face League Two side, Morecambe on Sunday in the third round of the competition at Stamford Bridge. Frank Lampard reached the final of the FA Cup last season where they lost to Arsenal by a 2-1 scoreline.
The Blues will no longer take any upcoming game casually as they are under immense pressure after failing to earn adequate points from the last six games.Lampard’s side even tasted defeat in their latest 3-1 home loss to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. The poor form of the team has put Lampard’s job in jeopardy.
The two teams will face each other for the very first time. If things go more south against an easy opponent, then the coach will have no option apart from departing.

TEAM NEWS
Reece James is unlikely to be risked against Morecambes as he is still recovering from the knee and hamstring injury. The talented fullback will be available from the Fulham game later. Apart from this and Christensen’s issue, Lampard has no injury or suspension news in his team.
Fringe players are likely to get a chance although the coach will not take any risk of totally altering the first XI. It is also speculated that the coach may call up his academy stars to feature too. It will be the perfect game to check the formation and give his key players some adequate rest.
