Chelsea next play Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge just days after ensuring their spot in the last four of the Champions League courtesy of an aggregate win over FC Porto.
The Blues were handed a 1-0 defeat last time around in Seville but would hope to return to winning ways over the coming weekend as Thomas Tuchel eyes silverware in his first few months in charge of the west London giants.
Let us now have a look at how Thomas Tuchel might set up his Chelsea side against Manchester City-
Kepa could be in line to earn a recall to the starting XI for the weekend clash at the Bridge with the Chelsea No.1 Eduoard Mendy earning some time off the goalkeeping duties.
Changes could be on show in the Chelsea backline as well with Andres Christensen now fit enough to take part in on-field action as was evident with the Danish international being a part of the 23-man squad that had made the trip to Seville for the recent Champions League fixture.
Christensen’s return to the XI could mean that either Antonio Rudiger or Thiago Silva would have to drop down to the bench to make way for their fellow central defender.
Marcos Alonso would be in the mix to replace Ben Chilwell at left-back with squad rotation in mind for Thomas Tuchel as the end of the campaign approaches near.
Timo Werner and Olivier Giroud would be hoping for starting opportunities despite Tuchel retaining his faith of late in fielding Kai Havertz as Chelsea’s central striking force.
