English giants Chelsea welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday in their next Premier League clash.
The Blues drew against Sheffield United in their last match with Noni Madueke sparing their blushes with an equaliser, his first this year.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are lying in the 9th position in the league table whereas their foes Everton are in the 16th position.
The Toffees are struggling badly in the league and are just two points above the relegation zone with a game in hand. They worked hard to snatch all three points against Burnley in their previous contest with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring just before half-time.
Chelsea will favour their chances to win but need to be less sloppy in attack. Cole Palmer has been their only lethal player with other individuals being inconsistent upfront.
The host has a better head-to-head record with 14 wins and seven draws. Everton have emerged victorious on 11 occasions.
However, the Toffees have troubled them in their last two encounters. They tasted victory in their latest match in December 2023 and snatched a draw in March 2023.
Talking about injuries, players like Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, Reece James, and Christopher Nkunku are all sidelined with long-term injuries.
Robert Sanchez, Malo Gusto, Levi Colwill, Ugochukwu, and Ben Chilwell remain doubtful for the upcoming match.
We expect the same front line to feature on Tuesday with Nicolas Jackson leading the attack alongside Palmer and Madueke.
Conor Gallagher will be playing the attacking midfield role and Enzo Fernandez with Moises Caicedo commanding the central midfield region.
Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella completed the defence. Djordje Petrovic will be starting in front of the nets as usual.
Chelsea have not lost their last five PL games and are already looking sharp this year. Although they have secured more draws lately, they are slowly moving up the points table.
It won’t be enough for them as they face the difficult task of securing a place in the European competitions next season.
