Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 2-0 on Saturday to make it 6 wins in a row in the Premier League for Frank Lampard. Tammy Abraham opened the scoring for the Blues after Willian played him a nice little pass to put the England international through on goal.
Christian Pulisic then doubled his lead shortly later after he headed home from close range to make it 5 goals from his last 3 Premier League games. The win takes Chelsea up to the 3rd spot in the table as Liverpool’s late match with Manchester City saw the Citizens drop 3 points.
Kepa – 6
Had absolutely nothing to do in the entire game. Palace had 3 shots at goal off which only one made Kepa adjust and make a save. No work at office for the Spaniard.
Reece James – 7
Came in for Azpilicueta and made sure he does his defensive duties as the Spanish stalwart. Managed to nullify any Palace threat from the wing. Had some issues dealing with Zaha.
Tomori – 8
Brilliant game from 21 year old. The English lad grows is now confident of his game and has put in some solid displays. Strong aerials and won most of his battles. Ayew couldn’t get hold of the ball near him.
Zouma – 7.5
Another centre half, another brilliant game! Controlled the tempo and him and Tomori now build the spine of the Chelsea side. Impressive game from the France international. 71/91 passes reaching their targets.
Emerson – 7
The clean sheet further boosts his morale. Kept Andros Townsend in arms length all through the game and never let in any sort of attacking venom from the left. Heatmap shows a hard working display.
Kante – 7
Came in for his first game in a long time and replaced Jorginho who needed a much needed break. Settled well and marshalled his midfield but a off his best game.
Kovacic – 7
His string of performances lately have been really good. Ensured no seepage of pressure to the centre halves. Sprayed the ball over the park with perfection. Booked for a silly foul.
Mount – 6
Off game for the youngster. Should’ve done much more with the half chances he had got. Defensively managed to block a lot of attempts. Couldn’t offer much going ahead. His crisp passing from previous games was nowhere to be seen.
Willian – 8
Amazing game from the Brazilian. Helped open the scoring with a deft little dink to Abraham. Created chances every now and then. Won his battles on the wing and passing was again up to mark. Booked
Pulisic – 8 MoTM
The American can’t stop scoring, can he? Another decent game from the ex-Dortmund player. His old form is finally clicking in. Made a scoring opportunity from a nearly impossible situation. Was in the right place for the goal.
Abraham – 8
The Three Lions star is the first Englishman after Frank Lampard to get 10 Premier League goals in a single season. Finished with perfection and confidence and that exactly what you need from you striker. The penalty miss against Liverpool in the Super Cup final is long forgotten now.
Substitutes –
Michy Batshuayi – 6
Wasted his chance to increase the advantage. Should’ve squared the ball to a number of Blue shirts in the box.
Billy Gilmour – N/A
Callum Hudson-Odoi – N/A
