Frank Lampard’s Chelsea will aim to turn their below-par home record around when they welcome Sean Dyche’s Burnley at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.
Both teams will head into the crunch fixture on the back of telling victories in the FA Cup, but neither of them has reached the heights of late in England’s top-flight division.
Burnley have lost three games in a row, while Chelsea has failed to brush the struggling teams aside, a quite depressing record that includes losses against the likes of West Ham and Southampton as well.
The Clarets are just four points off the relegation zone and must find ways to stop conceding goals recklessly, besides swallowing the fact that they could be without a couple of key men for the trip to London.
Spanish wing-back Marcos Alonso and American attacker Christian Pulisic remain doubtful for the west London giants, while English winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, expected to shake off his knock on his ankle against Nottingham Forest and be fit in time to face Burnley.
Elsewhere, the 41-year-old English manager Lampard is set to recall his preferred center-back duo of Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma, while French midfielder N’golo Kante should slot straight into the center of the park.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek still remains a long-term absentee, while English midfielder Ross Barkley might find a place for himself on the bench following his promising display in the FA Cup third round.
Chelsea’s Predicted Starting Eleven- Kepa Arrizabalaga; Reece James, Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, Cesar Azpilicueta; N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic; Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Willian
