Chelsea reportedly turned the proposal of Miralem Pjanic and Jorginho swap deal by Juventus last season.
Jorginho’s agent claims that Maurizio Sarri was highly interested in the 28-year-old midfielder and wanted him in Juventus.
Maurizio Sarri joined the Old Lady in summer 2019 from Chelsea and tried to bring the Chelsea midfielder with him too. Previously, Sarri has worked with Jorginho in Napoli. Chelsea was aware of the opportunity to take the Bosnian midfielder from Juventus but no signs of interest were shown from the Chelsea Board.
Sarri was sacked by Juventus after failing to do big in UEFA Champions League. Had he been there, Jorginho surely would have joined the Italian club.
“Juve sporting director FabioParatici never called me. Would he have moved to Juventus with Sarri? I think so,” said Jorginho’s agent.
The Italian midfielder of Chelsea will be adamant to leave the club if he falls down the pecking order with the arrival of the new guys.
“He has a three-year deal with Chelsea. The market is long, it will last until October 5,” he said.
“If Chelsea were to think that he is no longer part of the project, I would find an alternative solution.
“Last year he played 40 games for Chelsea and is an important member of the national team.
Clubs like Bayern Munich, PSG have shown interest in the 28-year old midfielder.
“So far we haven’t received any official offers. He is followed by many clubs and there aren’t many players with his characteristics in that role,” said Jorginho’s agent.
