Chelsea have reportedly turned down West Ham United’s loan approach for midfielder Conor Gallagher whose Stamford Bridge future hangs in the balance.
Gallagher’s return to the Chelsea fold this summer after a fantastic loan spell last term at Crystal Palace came amid a host of clubs across England keeping tabs on his transfer status despite Chelsea wanting to retain the youngster.
Everton have been credited with a strong interest in moving in for the England international but it is West Ham United who have made a formal approach to sign Gallagher on loan for the 2022-23 season only to be shot down by the Chelsea camp.
According to a report from The Guardian, West Ham have been told that Gallagher is not keen to leave Stamford Bridge in this summer’s transfer window with the 22-year-old hoping to earn game time under Thomas Tuchel’s charge.
Chelsea, meanwhile, could be in line to part ways with another youth academy product in Callum Hudson-Odoi with the English winger looking to seal a move elsewhere on loan to ensure regular first-team football.
