Chelsea have reportedly turned down Brighton’s £30 million bid for centre-back Levi Colwill who is most likely to stay put at the Bridge beyond the summer.
The promising defender enjoyed a stellar loan stint on the south coast with the Seagulls this season and there had been talk gaining ground of late that Brighton were keen to make his move to the Amex permanent.
According to a recent report from The Guardian, it is claimed that the Blues have shot down an approach from Brighton who had tabled a £30 million offer to sign Colwill after his impressive season on loan at the south coast outfit.
The Blues are under pressure to sell players this summer to trim their bloated squad and raise funds for the incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino but parting ways with the promising Colwill is not part of their plans.
Colwill is viewed as key to Pochettino’s squad and with the centre-back contracted to the club until 2026, with an option to extend by a year, Chelsea are looking to rebuff interest from elsewhere in the 20-year-old’s services.
