Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele’s camp following confirmation of his exit from Camp Nou in the summer.
The France international wide player’s failure to agree on extended terms with Barcelona has sparked off the speculation over his decision to seek a move elsewhere at the end of the campaign.
Thomas Tuchel’s Blues have thrown their hat in the ring for Dembele’s signature and are set to step up their approach by touching base with the representatives of 24-year-old winger, according to Fabrizio Romano ( via The Daily Mirror).
Dembele has emerged as a much sought-after player in the transfer market and with talk gaining ground that he is nearing his departure from Spain, Chelsea are credited with a strong interest in Tuchel’s former player whom he had managed at Borussia Dortmund.
Summer signing Romelu Lukaku has failed to hit the ground running in a consistent manner despite the fanfare surrounding his return to the Bridge and Tuchel could be convinced to add to his options in the final third.
