Chelsea are reportedly set to use fringe first-team player Christian Pulisic in a swap offer for bringing Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo to Stamford Bridge.
Zaniolo has been one of the standout players in the Roma camp under the charge of Jose Mourinho and there are rumours that the Italy international is looking to make the move to the Premier League soon.
According to a report from the Italian outlet CMW, Chelsea could pip local rivals Tottenham Hotspur to signing Zaniolo in the summer window by sending the unsettled Christian Pulisic in the opposite direction to Rome.
Spurs have failed in their repated attempts to lure Zaniolo to North London with Roma appearing firm on pricing front while Chelsea hope to make use of Pulisic’s services in a swap deal for landing Zaniolo.
The 23-year-old Pulisic has fallen down the pecking order in the Chelsea fold and the USMNT international winger is expected to be deemed surplus to requirements by the head coach Thomas Tuchel before the transfer window closes.
