Chelsea are set to trigger a £12.6 million buyout clause to sign Dynamo Moscow midfielder Arsen Zakharyan in this summer’s transfer window.
The 19-year-old Zakharyan has won the club’s Player of the Year award at Dynamo Moscow for the last two seasons and his showings in Russia are in line to earn him a big-ticket move to the Premier League.
Chelsea were looking to scout the transfer market this summer for a new midfield signing to reinforce their squad for the campaign and have their sights on bringing Zakharyan to Stamford Bridge.
According to a report from the Russian news outlet Sport-Express, it is claimed that Chelsea have shown readiness to meet Zakharyan’s £12.6 million release clause and sign the midfielder ahead of other suitors in the mix for the Dynamo starlet.
The likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma have shown an interest in moving in for Zakharyan’s services with Chelsea all but confirmed as the club to emerge as the winners for the coveted signature.
