Chelsea are tipped to step up their chase of Celtic’s Josip Juranovic following a fresh injury setback for Graham Potter’s first-choice wing-back Reece James.
The English defender returned to action in Chelsea’s recent win over Bournemouth upon the restart of the Premier League campaign but could now be on the sidelines for up to a month.
According to a report from The Daily Express, it is claimed that the Blues are looking at the possibility of signing Celtic’s Josip Juranovic who enjoyed a terrific campaign at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the semi-finalists Croatia.
He is said to have long been radar at Stamford Bridge with the Chelsea board, under co-owner Todd Boehly, keen to bolster the backline at Graham Potter’s disposal as the transfer window reopens for business in the coming days.
The 27-year-old Juranovic’s current terms at Celtic are due to expire in 2027 and with the Scottish giants already signing a replacement in CF Montreal’s Alistair Johnston which could set the stage for the former to leave for west London.
