Malang Sarr will sign for Chelsea FC on a five-year deal this summer amid reports that the France U21 international would be Frank Lampard’s sixth acquisition of the ongoing transfer window.
However, the young Frenchman would be immediately loaned out to a major European club with Lampard hoping that the center-back gains some valuable experience before returning next season to Stamford Bridge as a quality first-team option.
Moreover, with the impending arrival of Thiago Silva, the Blues would not be short on center-back alternatives in the upcoming season. The 35-year old is speculated to agree upon a two-year deal with the west London club following an exit from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 21-year old Sarr will join Chelsea FC on a free transfer, with the defender not having extended terms with Ligue 1 outfit Nice at the end of last season. Besides the Blues, there were many sides who had expressed interest in making a move for the French starlet, however, had been snubbed by the player.
Torino and Real Betis were two such teams who had been in the fray to sign the ex-Nice defender. However, the player is believed to be highly keen on joining the Stamford Bridge outfit where he hopes to break into the first-team squad next season.
