Chelsea to rival London foes Arsenal for James Maddison this summer

The Blues are in the frame alongside their city rivals Arsenal for the signature of the highly-rated creative talent James Maddison who is linked with an exit from the King Power Stadium this summer.

Maddison was in top form last season for Brendan Rodges’ Foxes on course to their FA Cup-winning glory which came against Chelsea itself but Leicester City were unable to clinch a top-four finish courtesy of a heartbreaking defeat to Spurs on the final day of league play.

Chris Wheatley of football.london has claimed that Chelsea’s willingness to offload Hakim Ziyech in this summer’s transfer window could coax the Champion League holders to enter the mix for Maddison who is a priority target for Arsenal.

The Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly a huge admirer of the England international who is not currently a part of the national team camp competing in the month-long UEFA European Championships.

Leicester City would certainly benefit from the London duo registering their interest in Maddison with a bidding war likely to come their way at the King Power Stadium as either side will hope to land the prized signing.
