Chelsea are expected to push on all fronts to land long-term target Jules Kounde from La Liga outfit Sevilla following a deadlock in the transfer talks.
Reports from ABC Deportes claim that the Blues will be reigniting their approach for the France international central defender who had been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as of late.
Attempts to sign Kounde from Thomas Tuchel’s camp failed to take off after a cash-plus-player deal ran into trouble with Kurt Zouma insisting on staying put in London rather than go in the opposite direction.
With the much-awaited deal for Inter Milan talisman Romelu Lukaku all wrapped up as the Belgian is in line to be unveiled at Stamford Bridge later this week, Thomas Tuchel will be setting his sights on ensuring Kounde’s capture before the summer transfer window slams shut.
Sevilla’s asking price of €70-80 million is understood to be unlikely to be met by Chelsea and Tuchel who is hoping to sign the highly promising defender to shore up his existing options at the back heading into the start of the new campaign with the Blues.
