Chelsea are reportedly in line to launch a bid for Leicester City central defender Wesley Fofana to bolster the defensive ranks at Stamford Bridge.
The French defender has been a top performer for The Foxes at the back and his stellar run of form could be his ticket to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea camp in what should be a big-money move.
According to reports from Foot Mercato, it is claimed that the Blues are keeping close tabs on the defender with Tuchel facing a contract standoff with his star defensive name Antonio Rudiger ahead of the next summer.
Rudiger is yet to agree upon extended terms with the west Londoners and with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season, the Germany international is nearing his exit from the Chelsea fold to seal a move elsewhere.
Real Madrid lead the race to land Rudiger’s signature on a free transfer with the La Liga heavyweights mooting over reaching out to the player come January and offering him pre-contract terms to sign on.
