Chelsea are reportedly in line to demand a fee of around £35 million for Manchester City target Mateo Kovacic who is attracting interest from the Etihad outfit.
The former Real Madrid man will enter the final year of his contract at the Bridge this summer and the Blues are resigned to cashing in on him now than lose him on a free transfer in 2024.
According to a report from 90min, Chelsea have set a £35 million valuation for the midfielder with the Premier League holders Man City in pole position to snap up the player who has been put on the transfer list by his club.
Chelsea are prepared to part ways with several high profile first-team names, including Kovacic and his midfield partner Mason Mount, with the Blues well aware of their need to raise money after spending excessively over the past year.
City are hopeful of getting a deal to sign the Chelsea maestro wrapped up soon with the price tag not expected to pose a concern for them as they look to line up a replacement for the outgoing İlkay Gündoğan.
