Chelsea are set to decide against making Saul’s stay permanent next summer with the midfielder likely to return to his parent club Atletico Madrid.
The 26-year-old linked up with the Blues on deadline day in this summer’s transfer window on an initial season-long loan arrangement with Chelsea having the option to buy €40 million.
However, it has been a misfiring start to Premier League life for the Spain international Saul as he struggles to cement his berth on the starting teamsheet ahead of the likes of N’Golo Kante, Jorghinho and Mateo Kovacic.
With Thomas Tuchel keeping an eye out for a fresh midfield signing in the market, reports from Todo Fichajes have suggested that Tuchel will be in line to deem his summer recruit surplus to requirements upon the end of his loan stint at Stamford Bridge.
AS Monaco’s young midfield talent Aurélien Tchouaméni is a name that has emerged on Chelsea’s transfer radar and Tuchel could be lured into prioritising a move for the Frenchman who has also courted attention from Liverpool and Juventus.
