Chelsea are understood to be open to allowing first-team outcast Ross Barkley to leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, according to reports from football.london.
The former Everton man has fallen down the pecking order in Thomas Tuchel’s camp and could be in line to call it quits before the transfer window slams shut come January 31.
Barkley has found it increasingly difficult to cement a berth on the Chelsea team sheet under Tuchel’s management and the German coach will not stand in the player’s way should he leave the club.
The west London outfit are looking to pocket the right offer for sanctioning Barkley’s sale but the England international’s wage demands are likely to prove as the stumbling block in his potential move away from the Bridge to his suitors in the market.
Newcastle United following their takeover last year are heavily linked with Barkley with The Magpies hoping to make moves in the January window and add quality talent to their ranks to assure safety from the drop zone.
