Chelsea are understood to be the latest entrants in the mix for RB Leipzig playmaker Christopher Nkunku ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old attacker has been in top form for the Bundesliga heavyweights over the course of the campaign and has been backed to sign for some of the biggest clubs across the continent.
A report from Foot Mercato has credited Thomas Tuchel’s Blues outfit to be in the race for Nkunku’s signature with Chelsea set to throw their hat in the ring alongside domestic rival clubs Manchester City and Manchester United.
Tuchel could find himself in the transfer market this coming summer to add depth to the attacking ranks at the Bridge with the likes of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku failing to provide the much-needed firepower in the final third.
Lukaku, since making the move to the English capital from Inter Milan, has not been at his brilliant best in front of the goal which could convince Chelsea to cut their losses on the sizable fee they forked out to sign the Belgian.
