According to the latest reports, Chelsea is prepared to make a bid for Bournemouth superstar Callum Wilson in the January transfer window to bolster their attacking options.
The Blues are looking to resolve their striking problems in the upcoming winter transfer window. Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata may not be the strikers who can win Chelsea silverware on a regular basis for Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.
Therefore, the West London club is looking to sign lethal forward Callum Wilson. The Cherries’ striker has had a strong start to the season and finds himself second in the Premier League’s top scoring list with six league goals. In addition to being the top English goalscorer for Eddie Howe’s men, the 26-year-old has also assisted four times, taking his direct goal involvement to ten goals already.
Wilson’s recent form has been red hot and the striker scored his 50th Bournemouth goal when his team was beaten by a last minute winner by Manchester United on Saturday. Wilson’s form has also led to a demand of him being included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the England matches in the international break coming soon. The manager is expected to announce his 23 players on Thursday and Wilson’s name is likely to be included in that list.
The Blues will surely benefit from the signing of the 26-year-old Wilson as he is consistent above all. They have two prominent names in Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, but both of them lack uniformity and form. Giroud is now 32 years old so he can’t be reliable, whereas Morata, who is hitting a good run of form, has not convinced the Blues about being a great option in the long run just yet. If Chelsea can sign Bournemouth in January or even by next summer, they can benefit hugely with his services upfront.
