Sergio Reguilón, earlier tipped to sign for Frank Lampard’s Chelsea FC side this summer, is nearing a surprise move to Napoli, according to recent speculation. The Serie A outfit have been in constant contact with the Real Madrid man over a deal ahead of next season.
Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso is adamant about improving his current defensive options after securing a dismal seventh-place finish in the last Serie A campaign. Reguilón had been in solid form for Sevilla during his loan spell at the Spanish side this past season.
However, the presence of Marcelo and Ferland Mendy at Zidane’s disposal at Real Madrid means that the Spaniard is certain to be offloaded this summer. The Real Madrid boss is on the look for buyers interested in securing the 23-year old left-back’s services.
The Blues had reportedly registered interest in making the move for the wingback earlier this summer. Frank Lampard is understood to be wanting to sign a left-back for his side with Marcos Alonso and Emerson both likely to be given the ax ahead of the 2020-21 season for Chelsea FC.
