Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly has reportedly turned down an offer from Napoli to extend his stay in the Serie A beyond the summer of 2023.
This development could help Chelsea in their pursuit of the Senegal international centre-back who has emerged as a top name on the shopping list for this summer’s window at Stamford Bridge.
Thomas Tuchel is in the market for defensive reinforcements to shore up his ranks at the back after the high-profile departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona respectively.

According to a claim made by the journalist Nicolo Schira, the 31-year-old Koulibaly, who has been a standout performer in Italy’s top flight in recent years, has snubbed an offer of a contract extension from Napoli to give Chelsea some much-needed hope.
Napoli could be forced to cash in on their wantaway defensive mainstay before the transfer window slams shut and Chelsea would be right in the mix to capture the highly-rated Senegalese in a cut-price deal but face competition from Barcelona and Juventus.
