Olivier Giroud has added fuel to fire over speculation concerning his future at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer with the Frenchman voicing huge praise for his suitors AC Milan.
The Serie A giants remain interested in signing the World Cup-winning striker who recently agreed to extend his stay in the Chelsea shirt by one more year as the west London giants triggered the clause in the player’s contract.
However, Giroud has clarified that Chelsea had activated the extension clause in his contract back in April but were forced to announce only recently owing to the Premier League rules.
Moreover, the France international added that he was unsure where his future lied with Giroud asserting that his focus rests solely on his performance with the Les Blues in the forthcoming UEFA Euros, claim reports from Goal.
“I want to make it clear that Chelsea reactivated the clause in April and they recently announced it to comply with Premier League rules.”
“It’s fair to remember that I liked [Milan legends] Marco van Basten and Andriy Shevchenko.
“Milan are a big club and one of the great teams in Europe. But, today, I will not talk about my future at the club because I am focused on the France team and the Euros, which is fast approaching.”
