Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Barcelona over the transfer of Cesar Azpilicueta which should be announced in a matter of days.
Azpilicueta has been eyed by the Catalan giants over the course of the summer transfer window with the Barca head coach Xavi keen to reinforce his defensive ranks by bringing in the experienced Chelsea skipper.
According to a report from the Spanish outlet SPORT, it is claimed that the two clubs have agreed on a knockdown fee that could be as low as £3.4 million for Azpilicueta’s long-awaited move to Camp Nou this summer.
Thomas Tuchel’s Stamford Bridge giants are closing in on the transfer of long-standing target Jules Kounde with the Frenchman finally set to sign for the west London side from Sevilla in a big-money deal.
Kounde’s arrival at the Bridge is expected to be followed by confirmation of Azpilicueta joining Barcelona who are in line to sign a second defender from Chelsea in the summer after recruiting Andreas Christensen earlier in the window.
