Chelsea still consider West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice their top target ahead of next summer with the Blues co-owner Todd Boehly keen on the player’s signature.
Rice has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge where he was released as a youngster before joining the West Ham fold and emerging as one of the top talents across the country.
According to a report from 90min, it is claimed that the Blues remain interested in moving in for Rice to freshen their midfield options despite West Ham turning down Boehly’s advances time and again.
West Ham’s disappointing start to the season could make Rice mull over his options with the England international maestro’s trophy-winning ambitions at the club not expected to materialise anytime soon in a welcome boost to Chelsea’s pursuit.
Rice is tipped to leave the Hammers next summer in order to further his career and Chelsea, with their long-standing interest in the Blues academy graduate, are backed to be the frontrunners ahead of other big-name suitors in the chase.
